Yesterday, Montreal duo Flowers and Sea Creatures released their self-titled debut on Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly Records. While their own moody compositions merit a close spin, eliciting favorable comparisons to Radiohead, Graham Baxter and Ewan Pearson also recorded a cover available exclusively on the iTunes version of their album.
Paying tribute to Montreal native son Rufus Wainwright, Flowers and Sea Creatures try on “Going To A Town,” from 2007’s Release The Stars. Listen to a live version for London’s XFM:
Flowers and Sea Creatures aren’t the only ones fascinated by “Going To A Town.” George Michael has featured Rufus’ song on the setlist for his current Symphonica tour. Amazing.
Purchase Flowers and Sea Creatures – “Going To A Town” (Rufus Wainwright cover) via iTunes.
