As yesterday was Christmas Day, I didn’t post a Cover Story as I regularly do on Sundays. But after taking some time to celebrate, Capital Cities‘ just-released cover of Madonna’s “Holiday” merits doing so on the day after.
Madonna’s first hit single peaked at #16 on January 18, 1984, and now the Los Angeles duo of Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian have served up a sparkling electro-pop take in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations all across the world.
Complete with a countdown at the very end, Capital Cities’ “Holiday” would be so nice cued up on your party playlist, timed to coincide when the clock strikes midnight. Listen and grab a free download below:
