Producer Doctor Rosen Rosen and singer-songwriter Marie Moreshead are back with the second offering under their Wanderhouse banner. Following June’s original song, “Use Me Up,” now the duo has delivered a cover of one of 2012’s biggest hits, Ellie Goulding’s “Lights.”

Mind you, Wanderhouse’s rendition is no tossed-off, carbon-copy cover. “Marie and I slow things way down and take the song to a real dark-n-cinema-y place,” Doctor Rosen Rosen explains to me via email.

Amazingly, by turning the lights down low (pun absolutely intended), Wanderhouse has illuminated the powerless dread that’s always been at the heart of Goulding’s #2 smash.

Wanderhouse is currently in the studio finishing up some original tracks, with plans to release a new single in November.
