The Shapeshifters (aka Shape:UK) are responsible for two of my favorite club tracks of all time, the horn-laden “Lola’s Theme” and the discolicious “Back To Basics.” Now the UK house music duo have a new track out in time for our collective summer lovin’, “Only You.”

Simon Marlin and Max Reich rarely disappoint, whether remixing others’ songs or working up their own tunes, but it’s been far too long since The Shapeshifters delivered a production featuring female vocals. “Only You” happily hits that sweet spot, with newcomer Kirstenana doing a bang-up job behind the mic.

“[‘Only You’] is about that special person in your life that makes you feel you can take on the world,” says Marlin. I’d say the arrival of summer conjures up a similar confident state. Oh, the possibilities!
