On her new English dance single “Stuck On Repeat,” Brazilian pop star Wanessa sounds like a cross between Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Lopez, with a dash of Shakira for good South American measure. Fiery and fierce, Wanessa means what she sings.
The insistent club remix from Dave Audé doesn’t disappoint, accentuating the song’s chorus with drums and synth stabs straight out of the decade when Thunderpuss (Barry Harris & Chris Cox) ruled the dancefloor. Much like Kylie Minogue’s huge hit from around the same time, “Stuck On Repeat” is true to its title. Give it a spin and Wanessa’s message will be lodged in your noggin’ for days to come:
