Yesterday, the latest from Martin Solveig & Dragonette, “Big In Japan,” was made available for download. The new single follows in the wake of their previous matchup “Hello,” released last fall and which ultimately proved inescapable. (In fact, I’m confident that the uber-catchy song is playing somewhere in the world right this very second.) The equally bouncy “Big In Japan” offers a tiny tweak on Solveig’s successful formula, with Japanese pop group Idoling!!! providing additional vocal support to Dragonette’s Martina Sorbara.
Like “Hello” (and “Boys & Girls,” for Dragonette-collab completists), “Big In Japan” appears on Solveig’s album, Smash, currently awaiting release here in the States. The music video for “Big In Japan” premiered last month, a clip that once again shows that the French DJ and Madonna producer is goofily game for anything.
