In case you missed checking out Charli XCX‘s “Nuclear Seasons” via a recent Free Weekend inclusion, here’s a second chance to get up to speed with the 19-year-old UK electro-pop singer via music video.
“Nuclear Seasons” is Charli XCX’s second collab with co-writer and producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Theophilus London, We Are Scientists, Alex Clare), following “Stay Away” earlier this year (a little T’Pau, that one). It’s Rechtshaid’s brilliant work with Theophilus London that the dark, buzzing “Nuclear Seasons” recalls, but this time the snap of those elastic Prince-like beats are triggered to support Charli XCX’s conjuring of Kate Bush.
The retro-tastic sonic combo is perfectly complemented by the song’s VHS-on-acid music video.
