The Waiting Is Over

January 14, 2012 1 Comment

I’ve been waiting for “Waiting On You,” the club track from longtime dance diva Ultra Naté (celebrating 20 years in the scene) and relative young’n Michelle Williams (formerly of Destiny’s Child), since the collaboration was first announced many, many months ago. Finally released in December, “Waiting On You” is currently climbing the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart, sitting at #21 this week.

As one would expect from such a stellar pairing (cover art aside), “Waiting For You” comes with a robust remix package, but I haven’t yet moved off the thick disco bump of the Original Mix, produced by Brinsley Evans and The Thrillers. Ultra Naté and Michelle Williams’ soulful matchup was more than worth the wait:

“Waiting On You” is taken from Ultra Nate‘s upcoming album, Hero Worship. The release, her sixth studio album, arrives 20 years after her debut, 1991’s Blue Notes In The Basement.

Purchase Ultra Naté & Michelle Williams – “Waiting On You” (Remixes) via iTunes, Amazon MP3. And grab a free download of legendary house DJs Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper’s Director’s Cut Tribute Bootleg Mix via SoundCloud.
