Oh Land‘s new song, “Speak Out Now,” doesn’t appear on the Danish singer-songwriter’s self-titled album, released nearly a year ago. Rather, the utterly winsome tune serves as the theme song to Rita, a television drama premiering on Denmark’s TV2 this week.
According to the show’s production company, Rita is about a teacher “forced to face her past in order to move on with her life … equally loved and hated, admired and demonized, by family, friends and students.” We get no glimpses of that in the music video directed by Sebastian Birk, which instead features Oh Land at the University of Copenhagen Botanical Garden, twirling amongst the foliage (indoor and outdoor), and knee deep in a lily pond.
