Well, this is a nice surprise for a Thursday.

Bright Light Bright Light has released a new single, “Waiting For The Feeling,” ahead of the song’s appearance on both the synthpop outfit’s debut album, Make Me Believe In Hope, due June 4, and a remix EP scheduled for April 30. In the UK, “Waiting For The Feeling” was broadcast on Sunday as part of a live session Bright Light Bright Light did for BBC Radio 1 Introducing, so Rod Thomas & Co. are striking while the iron is hot, as kids these days are wont to say.

“Waiting For The Feeling” goes a little something like this. Just imagine house beats and general amazingness under Thomas’ voice and you’re mostly there, though the fully produced track is even better.

UPDATE: Turns out there’s a proper music video for “Waiting For The Feeling.” Hooray! Let’s watch Rod Thomas get manhandled a bit, or head-handled, as is specifically the case in the clip, which also features a fair amount of ball play. Alùn Davies directs:

Bright Light Bright Light has also made a bootleg mix of “Waiting For The Feeling.” Streaming on his website, the mashup throws Gat Decor’s 1992 single, “Passion,” under the vocal.
