The Return of Robin S

March 24, 2012 3 Comments

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Roland Clark was in the Saturdance spotlight, singing on X-Press 2’s “Let Love Decide.” Now DJ/producer is back behind the board for a new track, “All Of Me,” that features vocals by Robin S.

It’s been a while since we heard from the “Show Me Love” diva — 2009’s “At My Best” with Corey Gibbons, to be specific — but with the sound of Robin S’s 1993 single percolating through pop music again (sampled by Jason Derulo, nicked by Melanie Amaro, bootlegged by Bright Light Bright Light) and inspiring new music from Andy Butler and Marc Vedo, it’s about time the Queens-born singer herself served up something new.

Clark’s original mix of “All Of Me” is a soulful house affair, and additional mixes from Hippie Torales, Swift of DJN Project & Slikk Timm, and Soul Riderz offer variations on that sound. But Clark was also thoughtful enough to bring a progressive house vibe to the ‘Welcome Back, Robin S’ party he’s hosting, and it’s his UltraFest Extended Remix that I’m showing love to.
