Bright Light Bright Light‘s love for the ’90s is well documented. From Another Night, his monthly club night in London that plays the best of 1990-1999, to his bootleg mixes that mash up classics from Snap!, TLC, Robin S., and others (more on that front in a minute), Rod Thomas has definitely got a love thing for the decade.
So it’s no surprise that he would look back to some of the biggest names in ’90s remixes for Bright Light Bright Light’s current single, “Waiting For The Feeling” (from Make Me Believe In Hope, out June 4). But the fact that K-Klass, Trouser Enthusiasts, Vinny Vero, and Steve Migliore (aka Mr. Mig) were all game to do so — at the same time! — is a textbook case for following one’s passion.
The complete package of “Waiting For The Feeling” remixes is worth celebrating (including a 12″ mix from Bright Light Bright Light himself), but fellow ’90s club music devotees should take note of Trouser Enthusiasts’ contribution. Ian Masterson and David Green’s rework isn’t only wonderfully epic in sound and scope — running just shy of 10 minutes long — it’s also the first under the duo’s cheeky banner in a decade.
