Teasers and snippets aren’t typically in my purview for posts, preferring to share such sneak peeks via Twitter, but this one from [STRANGERS] merits an exception.
New single “Safe/Pain” is due in August from the upstart London dark-pop trio, most recently seen supporting Niki and the Dove and Blancmange in the UK. [STRANGERS] frontman David Maddox-Jones tells me they’re currently collecting remixes for the single release and will be shooting a music video in a couple of weeks.
The teaser clip for “Safe/Pain” also marks the first fruits of a new collaboration with visual design team Zenessex, who the band met during a recent festival appearance.
Take a look/listen and you’ll see/hear why I couldn’t hold off on “Safe/Pain,” which no less a synthpop giant than Vince Clarke has already (and quite accurately) deemed “Epic!”
Maddox-Jones, who’s busy writing some more new tunes at the moment, says [STRANGERS] is planning a UK tour for later this year. Curxes‘ Macaulay Hopwood recently joined the trio on stage as guest bassist, an association Maddox-Jones hopes will continue, schedules permitting.
Purchase [STRANGERS]’s current single, the also-epic “Shine On You,” via iTunes, Amazon MP3.
