Turn It Up

Enter Wanderhouse

Producer Doctor Rosen Rosen, who wowed with his work on Meg Myers‘ debut EP, the wonderfully diverse Daughter In The Choir, has a new project that is very much worth your ear.

He’s teamed up with singer-songwriter Marie Moreshead to form the band Wanderhouse. You might recall the two collaborated a couple of months ago, turning out an introspective cover of Nazareth’s “Love Hurts” that was heard on The CW’s now-canceled Ringer.

Wanderhouse’s debut song, “Use Me Up,” would probably sound terrific on television too, though it’s much more cinematic in scope. With Moreshead singing of her desperate desire to submit, “Use Me Up” is a long, lonely march through the dark night, the way only partially illuminated by flickering flourishes of guitar that recall the riff to Duran Duran’s “Save A Prayer.”

It might be moody and gray, but don’t wait for nightfall or the darkest of days to give Wanderhouse a serious spin.
