George Michael has unveiled the music video for new single, “White Light,” inspired by his near-fatal bout of pneumonia late last year.
Directed by Ryan Hope (The Saturdays, Alpines), whom the 49-year-old music icon calls a “lovely bloke and genius,” the “White Light” video co-stars supermodel Kate Moss, who was just starting out when Michael’s model-heavy “Freedom ’90” clip hit MTV. Not a small smattering of good-looking gentlemen, including one hot cop, also appear in the “White Light” video, a meditation on mortality and how the distance between life and death, light and dark, can be determined by a mere coin flip.
Rested and ready to hit the road again, Michael restarts his Symphonica Tour in September. A series of November dates in Australia were announced over the weekend.
Purchase George Michael – “White Light” via iTunes, Amazon MP3. Remixes are forthcoming, available for preview via his YouTube page.
