Alt-rock legend Bob Mould has premiered the music video for “The Descent,” the first single from his forthcoming album, Silver Age, out September 4.
In the clip, directed by Portland photographer/filmmaker Alicia J. Rose, the former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman leaves the corporate grind behind and communes with nature in the Oregon forest. The storyline dovetails well with the pop-rock sound of “The Descent,” on which Mould taps into his Sugar-filled roots after some dormancy.
Recovering Sugar addicts, take note. Mould will be performing the band’s 1992 debut album, Copper Blue, in full (along with Silver Age) during his fall solo tour. The 20-year-old release received the deluxe treatment last month.
