Aren’t lyric videos supposed to precede official music videos? I’ll give Morning Parade a pass because “Headlights” only recently took off at radio, many months after its original February release, but now The Wallflowers are also working in reverse.
I’m willing to entertain the notion that I’m part of the problem. As was the case for “Headlights,” the music video for “Reboot The Mission,” the reunited rockers’ comeback song featuring Mick Jones of The Clash, missed my radar. But I did take note of the lyric video, released last week.
Only discovering the existence of the first clip after gearing up to share the second, I’m posting the pair for your visual enjoyment so you can take your pick.
“Reboot The Mission” is the first single from Glad All Over, The Wallflowers’ first new studio album in seven years, out October 2. The song isn’t exactly “One Headlight 2: Padiddle Boogaloo,” but I’d much rather have this “Miss You”-like rock-dance hybrid on repeat than “Three Marlenas.”
