Frankmusik In The ‘Fast’ Lane

November 5, 2012 1 Comment

2012 has been something of a rebuilding year for Frankmusik.

In October 2012, just weeks after releasing his sophomore album, Do It In The AM, Frankmusik parted ways with Cherrytree Records. The last 12 months have seen Vincent Frank adopt a new moniker (Vincent Did It) and share some new tracks — including a Whitney Houston tribute remix and The SOPA Opera EP — before getting back to the business of being Frankmusik full time. He also went platinum blond for a bit (he’s brunette again) and successfully quit smoking.

While producing music for other artists like Quigley and Montreal rapper SRH and completing the occasional remix (AlphabeatRide The Universe), now the happily unsigned Frankmusik has released a new single of his own, “Fast As I Can.”

“[Quigley] wrote the top line and I did the production,” he tells Homorazzi. “After I had finished the production I sent it off to my good friend Hervé who did some awesome additional production too. I changed most of the lyrics after sitting on the track for a while and it all came together quite nicely.”

Frankmusik is also soliciting remixes for a “Fast As I Can” EP. If you’re so inclined, grab his vocal track via SoundCloud.
