So here it is, the other missing video directed by James Franco for R.E.M.‘s 2011 swan song, Collapse Into Now. After the contemplative “Blue,” which starred Lindsay Lohan, he’s working an entirely different mood and muse — a musical — in “That Someone Is You.”

An homage to Grease‘s penultimate scene, Franco is the one that he wants, casting himself as Danny Zuko. The actress playing Sandy, however, has been oddly obscured by a giant cat head. I’m sure this all makes total sense in Franco Land, but with R.E.M’s song clocking in at under two minutes, maybe “That Someone Is You” did call for a little Greased Lightnin’.

[UPDATE: The kitty in question is Anne Hathaway, Catwoman herself. The footage comes from the 2011 Oscar co-hosts’ rehearsal for a skit that never aired on awards night.]
