After spending much of 2012 in virtual hibernation, Pandr Eyez has put forth a new tune each of the past three months.
In September, Ferren Gipson and Tom Lloyd shared the Robyn-meets-Beyoncé “Again And Again.” They introduced rap to their R&B game in October with the slow-jamming “Physical Education.” And just days before November turned to December, the London duo dropped an invitation to their “Fake-Ass Party.” (Kudos for hyphenating the title’s compound adjective. It would be quite a strange celebration otherwise.)
Like Pandr Eyez’s first two 2012 entries, “Fake-Ass Party” defies easy categorization. In the span of three minutes, the track bounces wildly from R&B to house music to late ’80s hip-hop as Gipson adopts the personas of various partygoers. An unusual mix, but Pandr Eyez does offer some of the best cocktails.
Might Pandr Eyez have something in store for December? A Facebook post from Monday promises “more music to come when the single goes on sale soon.”
