While on a seemingly endless Eastern European tour over the past year, English synthpop duo Hurts spent some time crafting the follow-up to their 2010 debut, Happiness.

Last night, Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson announced that their new album, Exile, will be released on March 11, a day before embarking upon another European tour. Hurts also premiered a new song, “The Road,” a dark, menacing epic with industrial flourishes and levels that run into red:

Here’s hoping that Hurts have worked out a U.S. release of Exile. After holding out for Happiness for several weeks, I eventually opted for an import. I believe it took a good year for the album to appear on iTunes here. That’s the sort of thing that really hurts.
