Vanbot issued just one single last year, the fantastic “Got To Get Out,” which finished at #25 on Popservations’ Top 100 Tracks of 2012.
After the song’s February release, Vanbot fell otherwise oddly silent on the new music front in 2012. But now the synth-loving Swedish popstress has returned, debuting a new song, “Hold This Moment,” and sharing the news that her sophomore album will arrive this spring.
A note about “Hold This Moment” on Vanbot’s website says that the song is “about the exhilaration a certain moment brings and the lack of power to maintain it.” Life’s highs wouldn’t seem nearly so thrilling without some lows along the way to provide perspective, however heartbreaking or deflating they may be, and Vanbot has proven herself adept at exploring this ever-present tension between light and dark, happy and sad. This is pop at its finest.
“Hold This Moment” was produced by Vanbot and Sebastian Forslund. The music video was directed by Rikkard Häggbom.
Vanbot – “Hold This Moment” is streaming exclusively on Spotify, accompanied by a remix by techno duo Boeoes Kaelstigen. A digital release is coming in early February.
