Last November, excited by Kate Boy‘s debut single, “Northern Lights,” my intrepid reporting skills (just some Google, really) nearly blew the lid off the mystery that these newcomers wanted to cultivate. Not meaning any harm, I backed off from revealing too much backstory.

It’s taken a few months, but Kate Akhurst, Hampus Nordgren Hemlin, Oskar Sikow Engström, and Markus Dextegen have finally shared a little bit more about the Stockholm-based collective they’ve created. Talking to Pitchfork, Kate Boy also debuted the music video for “In Your Eyes,” a clip that ironically still keeps them mostly in the shadows.
