I skipped mentioning Demi Lovato‘s new single, “Heart Attack,” when it was released several weeks back. But now there’s a clip to back Lovato’s latest, directed by Chris Applebaum (Rihanna, Miley Cyrus) and featuring an intense, smudged-up Lovato.

If you have any hesitation as to whether to give “Heart Attack” some love, the track’s ascending chorus will quickly set you straight. Though I was burned by a pop song with the very same title three decades ago, Lovato’s “Heart Attack” has the potential to remain arresting when listening back even 10 years from now.
