Heaven Is A Place On Tour

April 13, 2008 2 Comments

Looks like it’s shaping up to be a so-not-cruel summer for those who can’t get enough of the ’80s.

Treats already lined up for these long, hot summer months include a greatest-hits tour from George Michael (his first North American trek in 17 years), Brit pop acts Rick Astley, Bananarama, Paul Young, and ABC, jetting across the Atlantic together, and homegrown talents Cyndi Lauper and The B-52s headlining the True Colors tour.

But now there’s yet another day-glo flashback to prepare your eyes and ears for: the Regeneration Tour, featuring Belinda Carlisle, The Human League, Dead Or Alive, A Flock of Seagulls, and Naked Eyes. Sirius Satellite Radio’s Big ’80s channel will help promote the tour, set to crisscross the country in August. If successful, the Regeneration Tour would return next year with a new lineup of ’80s greats.

While there’s no word on whether Carlisle will sing part of her set in French, I do hope her season-appropriate song from 1990 secures a place on the setlist. Though “Summer Rain” only made it to #30, its radio-ready chorus remains a force to be reckoned with:
