Canadian pop-rockers Marianas Trench have been kicking about in The Great White North for over a decade, winning awards and accolades, but after a song that frontman Josh Ramsay co-wrote and produced took off in a big way last year — Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” — at least one record label came calling.
Now signed to Cherrytree Records in the U.S., Marianas Trench has released a 4-track EP, Face The Music, with lead track “Desperate Measures” serving as the band’s stateside introduction. Like Jepsen’s smash, the song dates back to 2011 (originally released on Marianas Trench’s third album, Ever After), with Ramsay’s production providing a crunchier kind of ear candy that may be just as sticky.
