While Chvrches’ appreciation for Prince has been mentioned in many a profile of the Glaswegian band, new single “Gun” is the clearest expression of that love.

With moments that echo “I Would Die 4 U” (a song Chvrches has covered), “Gun” leaves no question that Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty would take a bullet for the Purple One.

No need to worry, no need to hide, Chvrches is coming for you. The band kicked off their North American tour today.

Chvrches – “Gun” is out July 15 in the UK. No U.S. release has yet been confirmed.
