You might recall reading a little something about Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings here. I gave these talented soul survivors a shout-out back in February, following Amy Winehouse’s Grammy wins. (The Dap-Kings served as the backing band on the Mark Ronson-produced Back To Black tracks.)
On Friday, I notched my 100th post—Blogger helpfully keeps a running tally—so I figured I’d celebrate this Popservations milestone with “Tell Me,” the latest from Ms. Jones & Co.’s 100 Days, 100 Nights album. (See, there’s the tangential connection.)
Really love how the group’s period specificity extends from the recording studio to the video sound stage:
As for the next 100 posts, all won’t likely appear within the next 100 days (or nights). Writing Popservations is serious business, and it takes time to get things in shape for sharing. Your patience and continued patronage is much appreciated.
Timing aside, it’s your turn to tell me something good. E-mail lines are now open: john@popservations.com
