I’m admittedly way late to this particular party, as at least two friends had introduced me to Muse a few years back. Even with such strong recommendations from folks whose musical tastes I appreciate, I didn’t seek out anything further. But recently I heard Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole” on BBC Radio 1 and was inspired to mention it here. (The track came out in May 2006. Better late than never, as they say.)
Had I happened upon the video first, I’m not sure my reaction to “Supermassive Black Hole” would have been the same. So perhaps you should just hit play, open another browser window, and get on with doing something else while you listen:
Turns out “Supermassive Black Hole” is the lead single from the soundtrack to the upcoming film, Twilight, based on the first book in Stephenie Meyer’s teen-vampire series. I admit I’ve never read word one, but if you’re a Twilighter, Entertainment Weekly has posted a preview of the film’s musical companion, which features new songs from Paramore, Mute Math, Perry Farrell, and even Twilight lead actor, Robert Pattinson.
