Showtime has released the trailer for the sixth season of Weeds, starring the lovely and intriguing Mary Louise Parker.
After Season 5 ended with the shocking, untimely demise of Nancy’s romantic rival Pilar (at the hand of son Shane, no less, who hit his target with a croquet mallet). So Mama Botwin packs up her brood and heads to our neighbors to the north, hoping to stay a step ahead of the Mexican drug cartel (including an estranged hubby) that’s likely more than a little miffed.
But new identity (The Newmans) and new location (Canada) be damned — it looks like our favorite dysfunctional bunch is soon back in the family business. And really, that’s why we watch Weeds, right? To see just how Nancy will successfully squirm out of the pickle she puts herself in time and time again. I can’t wait for August 16th:
Alas, there’s no Celia Hodes this season since Elizabeth Perkins left the show, but we do get Linda Hamilton as Nancy’s new female partner-in-crime. And Hamilton is no slouch when it comes to kicking some ass.
The sixth season of Weeds premieres August 16th at 10/9c on Showtime. Catch up on what you’ve missed via iTunes.
