‘Any Which Way’ Is Loose

Scissor Sisters have released the video for “Any Which Way,” the third single from their third LP, Night Work.

The album was produced by Stuart Price, the talented helmer whose studio skills Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears effusively praised to Kylie Minogue, pestering her to hire Price for what would become Aphrodite. Shears co-penned “Too Much” for her album (with Minogue and Calvin Harris), and Kylie returned the favor by contributing backing vocals for “Any Which Way.”

“Any Which Way” is a sonic homage to the falsetto disco days of the Bee Gees (but with a tad more sleaze in its strut), and Scissor Sisters keeps things squarely in that era by referencing the original L’eggs in Ana Matronic’s talky bit about prepping for a night out on the prowl. Fantastic. I’m not even going to attempt to describe the colorfully zonkers video, but if a nearly naked Shears is what you’re after, you’re gonna be a happy camper:
