I dare anyone to slag Robyn for being lazy (or really, for any other reason) because I don’t know how the girl finds time to breathe. She recorded and released two EPs and an album in 2010 (or three EPs, depending on how you bought Body Talk), and has been touring all over nearly non-stop (I’ve seen her twice here in San Francisco). Yet somehow the platinum-haired international pop phenom (a 2011 BRIT nominee) made time in her busy schedule to do a solid for some fellow Swedes, adding her vocal magic to Savage Skulls & Douster’s “Bad Gal.”
Taken from their Get Rich Or High Tryin’ EP, “Bad Gal” was also appended as a bonus track on the iTunes edition of Robyn’s Body Talk Pt. 2, so maybe you’re familiar with its deep beat and general electro-dance deliciousness. But as I prefer to get physical with my fave Swede, I was unaware “Bad Gal” even existed until today’s premiere of the music video below. Mildly embarrassing, but my god, I’ve been busy too.
Watch a red-vested Robyn get down to “Bad Gal,” a pulsating track that begins with a nod to New Order’s “Blue Monday”:
Savage Skulls also co-produced “Love Kills,” from Body Talk Pt. 2. Robyn kicked off yet another North American tour last night in Toronto. Catch her if you can.
