The Cars‘ have reunited and are revving up for the release of Move Like This, the New Wave outfit’s first studio album since 1987’s Door To Door. With all surviving band members on board (bassist/singer Benjamin Orr died in 2000), expectations for the synthpop pioneers’ new model are running high.
Today, The Cars released a video for “Blue Tip,” a track that the band first shared as a brief snippet on Facebook back in October. Now that I’ve heard the song in full, “Blue Tip” isn’t quite enough to get my motor running — I like my Cars’ songs with more of a chrome-shined chorus — but consider my pump primed. (One too many car references?)
If “Blue Tip” isn’t just what you needed, hold on. “Sad Song,” said to be the proper first single from Move Like This, is headed our way mid-March. There’s a teaser snippet for that track too.
The Cars – Move Like This is out May 10 on Hear Music.
