Florence + The Machine have been announced as the Friday night headliners of Bestival, the four-day music festival held annually since 2004 on the Isle of Wright in England. They join fellow headliners New Order (Saturday) and Stevie Wonder (Sunday).
To celebrate joining the bill and the wildlife theme of this year’s Bestival, to be held September 6-9, 2012, Florence + The Machine have covered Talking Heads’ “Wild Wild Life.” Taken from 1986’s True Stories, “Wild Wild Life” holds the personal distinction of being the very first Talking Heads record I ever owned.
Really getting into the Bestival spirit — it will be Florence Welch’s first appearance there since 2009, after all — she and her Machine gamely donned animal costumes whilst recording this casually done cover. It must be noted that of the foursome, Welch looks like she’s having the most fun.
