How To Dress Well covers Janet Jackson

Continuing a recent theme of “While we impatiently wait for new music from Janet Jackson, we’ll revisit the old,” Brooklyn’s How To Dress Well has covered her 1993 #1 single, “Again.”

The tender ballad is well within the wheelhouse of Tom Krell, whose ethereal, lo-fi approach to R&B is a beautiful match for “Again.” Recorded for a bonus 7″ that will accompany pre-orders of How To Dress Well’s sophomore album, Total Loss, his stripped-down piano cover has also been made available as a free download.

Nearly nineteen years ago, Jackson’s “Again” secured Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for Best Original Song (ultimately losing to Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets Of Philadelphia”), but How To Dress Well’s new cover is a winner. You could say that Krell has done her song poetic justice.
