Purple Crush covers Madonna

Following up their superb cover of Madonna’s “Live To Tell,” electropop duo Purple Crush continues their quest for an audience with the Queen herself — well, attending a Madonna concert for the very first time — by posting the next chapter from their in-progress MadonnaWannaBe EP, a faithful take on “Lucky Star.”

Cementing their superfan status, Purple Crush also recreated the original 1984 single’s artwork, as seen at right.

“Lucky Star” reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1984, starting an impressive run of 16 consecutive top 5 hits for Madonna that continued through 1989’s “Cherish.” Listen to and download Purple Crush’s cover of “Lucky Star” below, and see how you can help Isla Cheadle and Jared Selter realize the goal of seeing their musical hero live.
