It’s become tradition that each time RAC (né André Allen Anjos) reaches a new milestone number of followers on SoundCloud, he records a cover song, recruiting his wife, Liz, on vocals.

CardigansLoveFoolAt 10,000 followers, the Anjoses tackled Smashing Pumpkins’ “1979.” Upon reaching 15,000, the couple took on Phil Collins’ “I Don’t Wanna Know.” Hitting 25,000 followers, they interpreted Radiohead’s “Climbing Up The Walls.”

Now RAC celebrates reaching the 30,000 mark with a cover of The Cardigans’ 1996 international smash, “Lovefool.” The Swedish band’s single spent eight weeks in the #2 position, beginning on March 1, 1997. Sixteen years later, the charm of “Lovefool” hasn’t worn off, no matter who’s singing it.

Earlier this month, RAC was signed by Cherrytree Records (Ellie Goulding, Jessie Ware). An EP is on the way this summer, with a full-length album planned for a fall release. Besides working on his own original productions, today Anjos revealed that he’s remixed the Bob Marley classic, “Could You Be Loved.”
