Last week, Friendly Fires stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and covered Lady Gaga.
Today it was Robyn’s turn in the BBC studios for the show’s two-song set. After doing current single, “Call Your Girlfriend,” she and her band took on Coldplay’s latest, “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall,” giving the song the bubbling dance makeover it’s begged for.
No surprise that the platinum-crowned Swede pulls “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” off with aplomb, since lyrics like, “You can hurt, hurt me bad / But still I raise the flag,” are practically tailormade for Robyn, whose own tunes are often of the tears-on-the-dancefloor variety.
