So prolific in 2020, releasing a series of songs that culminated in December’s Close EP, STRANGERS are poised to share some new music soon. But while we wait for “Wolf At The Door” to arrive, Sydney singer-songwriter Shelley Harland has covered the London trio’s transcendent 2012 single, “Shine On You.”
Taking the song in an electronic direction with some trip-hop touches, Harland’s intimate performance of “Shine On You” sets it apart from STRANGERS’ epic original.
It’s something of a mutual-admiration society between Shelley Harland and STRANGERS. The band has created a lovely remix of “New Things,” the first single from her crowd-funded album, The Girl Who Cried Wolf, released in January.
Free download of Shelley Harland – “Shine On You” (STRANGERS cover) and “New Things” (STRANGERS Remix) via her SoundCloud.
