I was traveling back from the West Coast today (and suffered the typical airport delays in my quest to return home), so apologies for this post being a wee bit later that I would have liked.
Inspired by the expanded reissue of Sinead O’Connor’s I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got (the focus of my Friday Flashback), I submit British folkie Kate Rusby‘s cover of “I Am Stretched On Your Grave.”
This hypnotic take, which appears on Rusby’s 1997 debut, Hourglass, leaves the original’s “Funky Drummer” sample aside for organic instrumentation. Talk about a remix. Hear here:
