Chvrches‘ tourmate and first signee to the band’s Goodbye Records, SOAK (aka Bridie Monds-Watson) has covered the Scottish outfit’s breakthrough song, “The Mother We Share.”
The 17-year-old SOAK, who hails from Derry/Londonderry, Ireland, strips the song of its towering synths for an acoustic version that simultaneously serves as a showcase for Chvrches’ genius songwriting and her own interpretive talents. Simply gorgeous.
Be sure to check out SOAK’s Blud EP, which includes Chvrches’ remix of the title track.
Free download of SOAK – “The Mother We Share” (Chvrches cover) via SoundCloud. NOTE: It’s a .wav file, so you’ll have to convert to MP3.
