If, like me, you’re fond of Keane, then you’d better head to the band’s website (as soon as you’re done reading here, of course). The band is offering a free download of “Spiralling,” a preview of their third album, Perfect Symmetry, coming October 14.
Produced by Jon Brion (Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple, Kayne West), Perfect Symmetry is said to depart from the Sussex, England band’s brand of piano-driven pop/rock. This spring, Q Magazine readers ranked Keane’s previous discs (Hopes And Fears, Under The Iron Sea) in a list of the Best British Albums of all time. The only other bands to place more than one title in the tally were the Beatles, Oasis, and Radiohead. Considering Keane only released their first effort in 2004, it’s an impressive feat.
To preview whether Keane will go three for three with Perfect Symmetry, get your hands on the free “Spiralling” mp3 (well, free after you enter a valid email address).
Hurry because “Spiralling” is only up ’til 11:00 am on Monday, August 11. Then it’s off to your favorite digital retailers.
