The road to Little Boots‘ upcoming sophomore album, Nocturnes, has been a long and winding one, with the British dance-pop artist sharing a new song here and there over the past couple of years. With today’s debut of “Motorway,” we’ve now heard about a third of the album (“Every Night I Say A Prayer” and “Shake” make the cut, while “Headphones,” did not).
Written by Little Boots and Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding) and produced by DFA Records co-founder Tim Goldsworthy, “Motorway” serves as the lead track on Nocturnes, setting the pace for what might be the best late-night dance record since 1999 gave us two: Pet Shop Boys’ Nightlife and Everything But The Girl’s Temperamental.
Like “Every Night I Say A Prayer” and “Shake,” Little Boots has made “Motorway” a free download too.
