As classic ’90s tracks go, Seal’s “Crazy” has been remixed a number of times.
William Orbit, Tim Simenon (Bomb The Bass), and Robin Hancock (Pet Shop Boys, Bananarama) contributed mixes to the original “Crazy” single, with Ben Chapman (Jesus Jones, Alison Moyet) redesigning it a couple of years later for the 1992 charity effort Red Hot + Dance. In 2005, Ananda Project and Orange Factory revisited “Crazy” as part of the “Killer 2005” remix package (that same year, Alanis Morrissette took her cover to #6 on the Billboard Dance chart).
Now Monsieur Adi adds his name to the list of those who’ve remixed Seal’s “Crazy.” Recently collaborating with the singer on new material and promising “an awesome sound,” the French producer has applied his ‘cathedral disco’ aesthetic to Seal’s signature hit. Beautiful.
