If the ultimate result of being ignored by the guy you’re crushing on in the club is landing the musical-guest slot on Letterman, then I say things turned out pretty well for Robyn.
My favorite Swedish pop songstress appeared on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater last night, treating us to a performance of “Dancing On My Own,” the deliciously infectious first single from her current release, Body Talk Pt. 1.
Robyn looked and sounded spot-on, getting me even more pumped for her show here in San Francisco on Saturday. I especially dig the double drum kits. I have no idea whether a second set of skins was absolutely essential, but sitting them side by side made for a fantastic visual.
Truer words may not have been sung, since it looks like “Dancing On My Own” may be the only single from Body Talk Pt. 1.
Yesterday Robyn released the cover art for “Hang With Me” (pictured at right), designated as the first single from Body Talk Pt. 2, the second of three releases Robyn has planned for 2010. “Hang With Me” originally appeared in an acoustic version on Pt. 1, but is getting an electro makeover for Pt. 2.
What are the odds Robyn will give us a hip-hop, country, or acapella take when Pt. 3 comes out?
