I very much looked forward to Adele‘s appearance on Chelsea Lately this week. Musicians are rarely interviewed on talk shows, just on at the end for a song or two — hello, goodbye. But that’s not how Chelsea Handler rolls.

Adele, whose new album, 21, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Albums chart with over 350,000 copies sold, sat down for a chat with Handler on Monday night’s show. And as Adele’s between-song banter during her recent Live On Letterman webcast proved, the British singer-songwriter has a fantastic sense of humor about herself (and quite the infectious laugh).

Her Chelsea Lately sit-down, shared below in case you missed it, is a total hoot.

Though Adele says could never date a ginger guy (she’s part ginger herself), I’ll let her dismissal slide. Because as much as I adore her, we do play for different teams. (But wait, such a doomed love affair could give her more songwriting material…)
