For the past seven years, indie rock band Sleeping At Last has covered a Christmas song, making the recordings available as a free download.
This year, the Wheaton, Illinois duo of Ryan O’Neal and Dan Purdue has gathered these seven secular and sacred tunes and put one more to tape (“White Christmas”) for their Christmas Collection 2010. And in keeping with Sleeping At Last’s annual tradition of a delivering a “musical Christmas card,” it costs absolutely nada to add their compilation to your music library.
Check out Sleeping At Last’s take on one of my top Christmas tunes, “Silver Bells.” Hear here:
Though all the tracks on Christmas Collection 2010 are covers, Sleeping At Last have written an original Christmas song, “Snow,” exclusively available on their current EP, December. It’s the latest edition of a monthly series the band began in October, with each EP yours for the low, low price of $3.
Free download of Sleeping At Last – Christmas Collection 2010 via NoiseTrade, where you can also preview the other songs.
