‘Rocket’ in my pocket

March 21, 2010 0 Comments

Head First, the fifth album from Goldfrapp, arrives in stores on Tuesday, but we got a taste of what to expect from the English electronic duo this time around when first single “Rocket” landed in January. Namely, upbeat synthpop that picks up where Van Halen’s “Jump” left off in 1984. Yes, “Rocket” is really as awesome as it sounds (and yes, Alison Goldfrapp is wearing a pink jumpsuit on the single’s cover art, which is as awesome as it looks).

But even better are the “Rocket” remixes, specifically the one from Tiësto, which has been fueling my recent workouts. When the delicious chorus hits and Alison sings, “Oh-oh-oh, I got a rocket / Oh-oh-oh, you’re going on it,” you best believe I’m following full force. So, take that, elliptical runner! And no, I won’t “slow down to reduce heartbeat.” Hear here:

Purchase Goldfrapp – “Rocket (Tiësto Remix)” via iTunes, Amazon MP3. Through 3/25, you can pocket a free download of the Richard X One Zero Remix at Amazon MP3 too.
