Dave Audé’s Got Something Special

October 13, 2012 0 Comments

With 80 #1 hits on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart to his name (as remixer or artist), it’s no stretch to say that producer/DJ Dave Audé has the cred to create a track titled “Something For The Weekend.” More than 13 years into his career behind the decks and still going strong, the Grammy nominee knows a little something about how to get clubgoers going crazy.

“Something For The Weekend” is the latest release from Audé’s label, Audacious Records, and finds him reuniting with Luciana on vocal duties. Last year, Audé and the London-born singer notched one of those #1 hits mentioned at the outset, “I’m Still Hot” (you might recall a remix featuring Betty White that followed in the fall). “Something For The Weekend,” a more classically constructed dance track, is likely to be a second for the pair.

Joining an extended “Weekend” by Audé himself are remixes by Sultan & Ned Shepard, John Dalhback, Crazibiza, Ralphi Rosario, and Vincente Fas, whose mix took home the prize in Audé’s first-ever remix contest. From this house music devotee’s admittedly biased perspective, the Chicago legend (Rosario) and Spanish newcomer (Fas) have both delivered something special for my weekend.

Fas’ remix is exclusive to iTunes, but you can preview all of the others below:

Last week’s Hot Shot Debut on the Dance/Club Play chart, “Something For The Weekend” is now moving up as the tally’s Power Pick. Something tells me Audé will be chalking up his 81st #1 in short order.
