Things have been relatively quiet on the Jackson Family front, following much drama played out over a couple of weeks via sources both reputable and less so.

Uncharacteristically, Janet Jackson was at the center of much of the media frenzy, with some nasty charges being leveled her way. For the record, her lawyer (also representing Randy and Reebie) says all allegations been proven false.

Taking matters into her own thumbs, Janet tweeted, “Thank u for knowing fact from fiction. Thank u for all of ur support. I luv u all.” So can we get back to the music now, please? It’s been far too long.

Let’s hope that’s a YES. But until there’s confirmation of her return to the recording studio, others have stepped in to remind us what we love about Miss Jackson in the first place with this trio of remixes — two new, one not too old.

ELIOT packs up Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” and takes her 1991 #1 single to tropical climes. A refreshing cocktail of steel drums and disco, “NA/JET” is a perfect re-swizzle for what’s left of summer sunsets.

Keeping the balmy vibe going, Moon Boots‘ “Sugar” skips ahead to 1993’s Janet, lifting the album’s second single, “If.” As the mysterious producer said when sharing his track on Facebook, “Crack open the fire hydrant, it’s gonna be a hot block party.”

Moon Boots has excised the Diana Ross & The Supremes sample from Jackson’s #4 summer hit, but what he’s put together today makes his “Sugar” a smooth and shiny success.

While Dave Audé‘s remix of “Make Me,” the sole new track on Jackson’s 2010 hits compilation, Number Ones, isn’t new, the super-successful DJ/producer did offer the radio edit up as a free download this past week. Not sure what made Audé do it, but his groove will get you up on the floor.
